High Temperture Resin til din Form 2 SLA printer'
Using High Temp Resin
Our High Temp Resin is designed to make it easy to prototype objects designed for use in high-temperature scenarios, including ducting, molding, and functional parts for industries like automotive and aerospace.
The most notable property of this material is its Heat Deflection Temperature, which is the temperature at which a material will deform under a specified load. For High Temp, the heat deflection temperature is 289 °C @ 0.45 MPa.
High Temp is ideal for applications requiring the part to stand up to high temperatures with minimal loading. The material has almost no flex, however, so snap fits and living hinges are not suited for printing with High Temp Resin.
Recommended for
- Injection Molding
- Thermoforming
- End-use parts in high-temperature applications
- Vulcanization
- Electronics Encapsulation
Not recommended for
- Parts that will be under load
- Snap-fits and/or flexible parts

Printing with High Temp
High Temp is available in 25, 50, and 100 micron layer heights for both the Form 1+ and the Form 2. Reserve the 25 micron setting only for small objects, the size of a piece of jewelry or smaller. The only difference between 25 and 50 is a slightly smoother surface finish - otherwise the print quality will remain the same. When printing at 25 microns, keep the prints small and move them around the Build Platform to prevent the resin tank from clouding.
Avoid printing High Temp on the Build Platform, due to adhesion issues that could occur between the part and the Build Platform; always print High Temp parts with supports. When printing very large or very heavy objects, increase the support touchpoint size or density, otherwise the piece may separate from its supports.
Finishing
The finishing process for parts printed in High Temp varies slightly from the post-print steps for Formlabs Standard Resins. High Temp cannot be rinsed for more than 10 minutes in isopropyl alcohol (IPA), or the part will absorb IPA. If the part is not dried thoroughly it will crack during UV treatment. To finish a High Temp part:
- Remove the Build Platform from the machine.
- Remove the part from the Build Platform using the removal tools included in the finishing kit.
- Rinse the part in the first bucket of IPA for 5 minutes.
- Remove the part and rinse it in the second bucket for another 5 minutes.
- Leave the part out to dry.
Our standard support removal and sanding techniques apply to this resin.
Post-cure Your Part
High Temp must be post-cured in order to exhibit its high-temperature properties. Ultraviolet (UV) light is best. 405 nm wavelength UV light is fine, but 365 nm, as found in a nail spa, is best. Cure for at least one hour, making sure to flip or rotate the part at the 30 minute mark to ensure even UV exposure.
WARNING
Your High Temp part will not reach its full mechanical properties without a thorough post-cure.
